Moon Walk Pedaling

A month back we had a request for the Lugano Border Crossing Ride from a super casual and low key couple. They wanted something ambitious - with 1200meters of elevation over 90km, they can check ambitious off the list. But there was something so calm about them that it left me wondering. Turns out that these two weren’t cyclists at all but instead dancers! In fact, professional dancers who are currently performing on Broadway in the Michael Jackson show. When I learned this, of course I asked for a dance move, which they delivered: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C69Lu6DIZZM/?igsh=MXJsbjI3bGI1cGk2bg==

And then, they gave me a moon walk lesson. Ever since I’ve been thinking about the moon walk whenever i think about my pedal efficiency. That bottom part of the stroke when you’re drawing backward is actually just like the moon walk! You actually draw your foot back across the ground. So now, when I’m riding, I’m also moonwalking if I’m doing it right… maybe good pedal efficiency will translate well into better moon walking skills. 🤞
